Dear EPS Community,
Welcome back to a new and exciting school year! We hope you had a restful and joyful summer with your families. Across the district, our amazing team of educators and staff have been hard at work preparing classrooms, offices, and school spaces to welcome our students back with care, enthusiasm, and purpose.
This year, we continue our unwavering commitment to equity, growth, and belonging. Every student, staff member, and family is a valued part of our school community, and we strive to ensure that everyone feels safe, supported, and included. It is our responsibility and privilege to provide the resources, tools, and opportunities needed for every child and young adult to grow, thrive, and achieve—both during their time with us and beyond.
We also continue to focus on the goals and actions of our 5-Year Strategic Plan, which outlines bold and achievable goals focused on communication, collaboration, rigorous teaching and learning, and a strong sense of unity across our entire campus. We are also guided by our Equity Statement and Commitments to the Community—key documents that continue to guide and anchor our work.
A major focus this year will be the continued development and implementation of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). This student-centered framework is designed to ensure that every learner receives the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral supports they need to succeed. To support this important work, our educators will engage in robust, multi-year professional development and coaching, in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, to strengthen their practice and meet students where they are—helping each one reach their fullest potential.
We are also pleased with the success of our roll out of ParentSquare, the communication platform designed to streamline and improve how we share information with families. If you are new to the district, we encourage you to download the ParentSquare mobile app to stay informed and connected with your child’s school and the district.
As always, please keep an eye out for important updates from your school leaders and teachers, and don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s school or the district office if we can be of support to your family.
We are thrilled to begin this new school year with optimism, renewed energy, and a shared sense of purpose. Thank you for your continued partnership and support—we are looking forward to a remarkable year ahead!
Most Sincerely,

Dr. Lisha Cabral
