Dear EPS Community,

Welcome back to a new and exciting school year! We hope you had a restful and fun summer with your families. In the district, we have worked hard preparing, cleaning, ordering, and repairing. We are ready to go, and we are already off to a great start.

As we dive into the fall, our focus will be on the publication and implementation of our new 5-year Strategic Plan. Action steps are being finalized, and we look forward to sharing it out at its completion quite soon. This plan emphasizes communication, collaboration, equity, and belonging—core values that drive our commitment to rigorous teaching and learning, community engagement, and campus unity. We are also proud that we will be sharing our Equity Statement which includes our Commitments to the Community and our ongoing pledge to foster an inclusive and engaging environment for all. This will also be used as an anchor for all of our efforts going forward and will soon be shared with the entire community.

Another phrase and concept you will hear referenced frequently this year is Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS). This framework focuses on ensuring that all students’ academic and social-emotional needs are met, with student growth as our ultimate goal. Our educators will benefit from robust professional development to support their efforts in meeting each student where they are and helping them achieve to their fullest potential. This is being fortified by the Leadership Team of the District as we embark upon a 3-year professional development and coaching commitment with the Rennie Center and Boston College to ensure our complete understanding and ability to support others in this work.

As one important step in our communication efforts, we are pleased to introduce Parent Square, our new one-stop platform designed to streamline access to school information. Parent Square offers a user-friendly interface that ensures accessibility and ease of use for all families. If you haven’t yet downloaded the Parent Square mobile app, we encourage you to do so to start receiving valuable notices and updates. For additional assistance, including helpful tips and instructional videos, please visit our district technology website for videos (coming soon), but you can start with this Parent Square Overview Video.

Finally, we will continue our collaborative work with town officials and residents through the Promoting a Sustainable Easton (PASE) Committee to identify and pursue goals toward long-term financial stability in the Town.

We thank you for your continued support of our school and district goals and our amazing team of professionals. Together, we will make this a remarkable year for all of our students.

Most Sincerely,

Dr. Lisha Cabral
