PRESENTATIONS

The School Counseling Department gives presentations to every class every year.  For all students we do course selection workshops in March on how to choose classes for the upcoming year.  We also have Guidance curriculum that we do in conjunction with our Naviance software.  Freshmen learn how to log onto Naviance, set goals, and take a Multiple Intelligence Test.  Sophomores learn about the world of work and take an Interest Inventory.  Juniors learn about the basics of college searches and the application process.  Seniors learn the nuts and bolts of the application process.  We also do a Common Application Workshop every August to help seniors start their applications.

For parents we offer a Junior Parent Night around December each year where we help them start the process of college search and a Senior Parent Night in September to jump start the application season.  Videos of these presentations are below.

COURSE SELECTION
March is when we start the process for next year's course selection.  Teachers make recommendations of what classes the students should take in the main core classes.  If students have questions regarding the recommendations, they should speak with their current teacher.  When the portal opens students are able to make their choices and are encouraged to select several alternatives to their elective choices.  Below are the forms that were emailed to you.
