  1. Moreau Hall Health Office is open from 8:30AM to 3:25PM, Monday through Friday. Mrs. Hassan can be reached at (508) 230-3235 or by email at mhassan@easton.k12.ma.us. Any issue requiring immediate attention should be phoned in.
  2. As stated in the Handbook for Students and Parents, “No medication is to be brought to the school by the child.” This includes prescription medication and over the counter medications such as Tylenol, Motrin, Benadryl, herbal medications and vitamins. Medication must be brought to school by a responsible adult. If your child requires a medication at school, please call Mrs. Hassan to discuss administration. No medication will be administered to a child without a doctor’s order.

    *Whenever possible, medications should be administered at home. Please note that antibiotics which are ordered 3 times a day WILL NOT be given in school.

  3. Cough Drops may be brought to school by students with a parent permission note stating when they may be taken. The cough drops will be kept in the health office and administered by the school nurse.
  4. Please share any pertinent medical information with the School Nurse. All information will be kept confidential.
  5. Please make sure that the emergency phone numbers that you have provided are listed with the correct area codes and that the emergency contacts are people who are available to take your child during the school day.
  6. Please notify the health office if your child has a communicable illness such as strep, flu, Fifth disease, conjunctivitis, head lice etc.

    *Do not send your child to school if he/she has any of the following symptoms: Fever, Persistent Cough-Wheezing, Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Weakness-Shakiness, Untreated Conjunctivitis or Strep Throat or Suspected Chicken Pox.

    *A fever is considered a temperature of 100 degrees or more. Students should not be in school until they have been fever free for 24 hours WITHOUT the aid of fever reducing medications like Tylenol or Advil.
  7. Children with communicable diseases such as strep throat, bronchitis, pneumonia and conjunctivitis must stay home until they have finished a full 24 hour treatment of antibiotics. They should also feel well enough to attend a full day of school.
  8. A note is required for all absences. Absences of 5 days or more require a doctor’s note for readmission to school.
  9. Routinely screen your child for head lice/nits. Report any positive findings to the health office. Please feel free to bring your child to the health office for a head check should you have suspicious findings. For information on head lice, please see the link at the bottom of this page.
  10. There are a growing number of children attending Moreau Hall with severe food allergies. In order to prevent an allergic reaction, please instruct your children not to share food with classmates and remind them that there is a No Eating Policy on the school bus.
  11. Vision and hearing screenings will be done on all first and second grade students in the fall. Kindergarten students who were not at Kindergarten Screening last June will have a hearing screening. All kindergarten students should have had a vision screening done at their 5 year old physical exam.
  12. In accordance with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulations, all 1st graders will be screened for height and weight. A notification will be sent home informing you of the dates. The notification will serve as your opportunity to request, in writing, that your child not participate in the screening.
  13. Insurance coverage is now available for every child in Massachusetts up to the age of 19. If you or your children do not have primary care health insurance and want more information, contact MA Health (800) 841-2900 or for students up to age 19 call Children’s Medical Security Plan at (800) 909-2677. Accident insurance can be purchased through the schools at a very reasonable cost.
