Class of 2003
At Oliver Ames High School, Jason Sutton starred in football, hockey, and lacrosse, being named All Hockomock in each sport, captaining the hockey and lacrosse squads, and winning the Valentine P. Muscato Award in recognition of being the top senior male athlete at OA.
In the fall, Jason was a receiver and defensive back for the Tigers, but it was in his role as a placekicker and punter where he was most renowned, establishing himself as among the top kickers in the state. In lacrosse as a senior, Jason scored 35 goals and was named MVP of the All Hockomock team.
Jason was a football standout at Colgate University, an NCAA Div. 1AA program. He started as the Raiders punter for four years, a stretch in which Colgate won two Patriot League crowns and made it to the national 1AA title game. Jason was four times named as Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week, and earned All Patriot League honors as a senior. Jason holds Colgate University records for most career punts (243), and highest per punt yard average in a season at 40.1 (57 punts for 2,283 yards).
