Dear Moreau Hall Community,
I am so excited and truly honored to be a part of the Moreau Hall family! This is my seventh year as a
principal, after teaching in Easton for thirteen years. Just as I have been so warmly welcomed into the Moreau Hall Family, let me welcome you. As you can see from our website, we are known as the “Moreau Hall Hawks”! On behalf of our entire Hawk family, I want to welcome you to our amazing school where we “take learning to new heights!”
Moreau Hall is a Pre-K–2 school with approximately 230 students. We are small but mighty! We have one Pre-School classroom, four full day Kindergarten classrooms, three sections of first grade, and four sections
of second grade. All students receive forty minutes of Music, Library, Art, and Physical Education each week as well. Every classroom in our school has an interactive whiteboard for student/teacher use. We have two mobile laptop labs and iPad tubs to bring the technology right to the classroom.
In addition to our classroom teachers and specialists, Moreau Hall has an incredibly talented, dedicated and gifted support staff. These staff members, which include Special Education teachers, Paraprofessionals/Aides, Reading Specialists and other Support Specialists work in the classrooms and collaborate with teachers to support children on a daily basis. Moreau Hall has a warm and cozy “family” atmosphere. Our goal is to make everyone feel welcome and cared for.
Anyone who knows about Moreau Hall knows that it has a stellar reputation. I am very proud to be a part of this incredible place where student learning and achievement is the constant focus. At Moreau Hall, teachers and staff work with one another as well as with students and families to be sure that the needs of all of our students are met. The collaboration, collegiality and teamwork that go on within the walls of Moreau Hall is truly amazing.
As the Principal of M.H. it is important to me that we work each day to fulfill our mission of providing a positive, child-centered learning experience for all students. Staff members, students and families need to work together to move the school forward, ensure that all children are receiving the best education possible and make certain that we all feel comfortable, safe and supported within these walls. We are all members of a team working toward a common goal of student success. Above all else, I wholeheartedly want Moreau Hall to continue to be a “great place to learn!” Learning becomes more meaningful when we are happy, excited and having fun.
Many families have heard about initiatives such as Response to Intervention (RTI), assessment and data collection, and technology integration. At Moreau Hall students have opportunities to work with technology on interactive whiteboards, better receive the support they need through our RTI model and be assessed regularly to be sure that we are tracking student progress. If you are a Moreau Hall family, please connect with your child’s teacher and attend PAC meetings to ask questions and be kept up to date on the new and exciting ways we are working to meet the needs of all of our learners.
Please know that I am always available to meet and talk if anyone has a question, concern, idea, etc. I look forward to another great year of learning at Moreau Hall!
Thomas Higgins, Principal
